Feeling The Pain

Way back yonder, I once listened to a sampling of Captain Beefheart in my Music of Frank Zappa class. Initially turned off by Mr. Van Vliet’s abrasive vocal style, I decided about a year ago to give it another chance. Now the Magic Band is easily one of my favorite, if not most obscure, sources of musical and poetical enjoyment. I’ve especially enjoyed the salty poetry of Orange Claw Hammer.

So today it was quite pleasurable to discover the source of a particular Painless Parker lyrical reference in the aforementioned monologue. Imagine the size of the bucket needed if Mr. Parker were to extract the teeth of all the fools that voted for G.W. Caesar yesterday? Whoops! There I go all political again…

“Whoops?” I think this week is an especially good time to get political! And where better to express it than your own personal blog? We nosey readers can like it or not.

  2. I am so ignorant when it comes to Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. But definitely curious! Think I’ll dedicate my next Amoeba listenin’ session to them. Random clicking led to MOI’s lyrics for “Hungry Freaks, Daddy,” which I dedicated to G.W.&Co., our Mr. America of the moment. Except much worse.
