Behind In Bamboo
Many thanks to Stacy for sharing a few weeks ago a wonderful page describing a bamboo and carbon fiber bicycle frame. This along with the infamous BamBucicletas keep me daydreaming of many bamboo projects yet to come.
Speaking of bamboo, the bamboo t-shirts turned out to be a hit with everyone at the office. (I hope to take and post pictures soon!) Luxiously soft, pleasantly breathable, and even anti-bacterial these shirts are sure to please even the biggest skeptic. I highly recommend the product and the company. Rich Delano, the president, is super friendly and very eager to please.

Added on May 16th, 2005 at 7:36 amJust visited Solomon Farm’s annual fiber arts festival on Saturday. I thought of our dear Bamboo Fool when I saw the beautiful bamboo yarns for sale; I thought at first that they were silk cord or linen, they had such a sheen…ah, but first I need to finish spinning all the alpaca that I acquired LAST YEAR, speaking of piles of future projects!
Another amazing weekend fiber arts event that took place this weekend: My sister bought an old spinning wheel at a garage sale for $20! What a way to stir envy in me and my drop spindle. I guess it pays to peek your nose into a garage sale every once in a while; a couple of simple wood turning commissions from some of Dad’s Amish neighbors and she’s ready to roll. Man!
Perhaps one day, when the Bamboo Fool Shop of Sustainable Creativity is in existence, our dear Fool could be suckered into crafting a lovely bamboo spinning wheel for this old biddy. Taking commissions any time within the next couple of decades?
